Constantine appeared on Good Day in Dallas, TX this morning.  He sang “Everybody Loves, Everybody Cries” and Jim Boggia accompanied him on the piano.  Nice variation to hear.  A video is up on the website for FOX in Dallas:

Before he sang, Constantine demonstrated his versatility by riding on a luge sled.  Is he considering trying out for the Olympic team?  Decide for yourself!

Girl Like You – Different views

Posted September 27, 2007 by Karen

“Girl Like You” from Constantine’s new CD centers around a man singing about his discovery of a girl who has entered his world. He admits that he has been waiting all his life, “for a girl like you.”  It is a romantic song with a very catchy beat and some lovely lyrics.

“Girl Like You” was shown in a specially made video with Constantine on an episode of The Bold and the Beautiful.  In it, Phoebe was featured as the girl.

Now it seems like other people are using it to create youtube videos on some of their favorite characters who are in love.

Here’s one that someone did for Colleen and Adrian from The Young and the Restless:

Thanks to rcgocats on Greek Speak, for finding this one.  Its a different approach than the first one:

“Girl Like You” is on the CD Constantine along with 11 other great songs.  Its now available in stores and online for purchase.

Appearances the Week of August 25th

August 25

Constantine did a promotional CD appearance at Woodland Mall, Grand Rapids, Michigan.  Rather than having me tell the story, read this newspaper article that gives lots of info and a title that describes the way lots of his fans feel when they are around him!

Hearts Throb for ‘Idol’ Finalist

Sunday, August 26, 2007By Rachael Recker

The Grand Rapids Press

GRAND RAPIDS — With long, wavy brown hair and a ready smile, “American Idol” Top 10 season four finalist Constantine Maroulis looked the part Saturday afternoon at Woodland Mall.

And he warmed up to the hundreds of fans who came to see him perform a few songs at the back-to-school fashion show.

“I want to meet each and every one of you,” he told his audience in the mall’s food court.

Maroulis, also an actor on the daytime TV drama “The Bold and The Beautiful,” performed four songs from his self-titled debut album, including his first single, “Everybody Loves.”

Before his performance, Maroulis sat down with winners of a contest to meet him.

“I love his charisma and his persona. He exudes a lot of energy,” said Jenny Andersen, 38, of Ada.

She is a member of fan forum Greek Speak. She has never followed any artists career like his. Why?

“I have no idea,” she said. “He took me right off my couch. When he was voted off ‘American Idol,’ I was like, ‘I have to follow this guy.’ So the fact that he came to Grand Rapids — five miles from my house — I’m a happy fan.”

Maroulis took pictures with the winners and even talked about his personal life, including his love for college sports teams at Duke and Notre Dame.

“I know, I’m saying all the wrong teams,” he said, with a smile, to his Michigan fans.

When asked by Andersen what his career highlight has been thus far, Maroulis said he hasn’t reached it yet.

“I think I try to stay hungry. … Once you start patting yourself on the back, it’s a wrap.”

During his performance, Maroulis continued to play to his fans.

“I was in the fashion show,” said Colleen Kohane, 15, a Grand Rapids resident and West Catholic High School student. “I just kind of stopped him. I asked him to make a shout out to my sister, Kristin, because she’s a big ‘American Idol’ fan.”

And he did.

Also at the show, Lowell High School student Brennan Prill, 16, won the mall’s “So You Think You Can WHAT?!” Talent Show, sponsored by WSNX-FM (104.5).

Prill won a $250 mall gift card and the chance to open the fashion show before Maroulis’ set..

Even though Prill was a little nervous, it all worked out for the aspiring singer, who plans to audition for “American Idol” next season. The two exchanged phone numbers.

“He said, ‘Dude, you have such a rockin’ voice — hey, what’s your number?’” Prill said.

Terrific CD Review from the Philippines

Constantine

“Constantine”
Constantine Maroulis

“American Idol’s ‘other’ rocker has proven that he too, can shine.”

We may have forgotten that Bo Bice wasn’t the only noted rocker finalist who competed during American Idol’s fourth season. There was another longhaired dude who sported a more introspective image that somehow ran opposite to the confident and grin-faced Bo.

Constantine James Maroulis, who once fronted a band named Pray for the Soul of Betty, wound up a respectable sixth-place during the singing contest. His memorable performance at that time included “Kiss From A Rose” by Seal, “Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic” by The Police, “I Can’t Make You Love Me” by George Michael/Bonnie Raitt” and of course, the best one was his rendition of “Bohemian Rhapsody” by Queen which even garnered praise from American Idol judge Simon Cowell.

Right after American Idol, there was the impression that making a record at the height of his popularity as provided by his Idol stint would come as soon as possible.

But as fate would have it, a ton of activities flooded his schedule. It included a tour of different key cities throughout the Northeast, being at Off-Broadway’s acclaimed Jacques Brell Is Alive And Well In Paris, as well as co-hosting Idol Chatter on Fox’s Good Day in New York.

Months before the album was released, he also became a featured performer on The Bold and The Beautiful, considered as the number two soap in the world. Many would also remember his brief visit in our shores two years back.

Fans could have easily raised the “what’s taking you so long” flag in anticipation of his album, and so finally on August of this year, the long wait was over, as his first solo album simply entitled “Constantine” was released. And based on the initial response from music lovers, it was one long wait that was worth it.

Upon listening to Constantine’s work, a subtle surprise could be felt on the serious approach and tight production given to the twelve tracks contained in the album. His songwriting and musicianship comes out, and the results are good. From the opening piano sounds of “Girl Like You” which shows off the versatility of his singing voice, to the bluesy-feel of the cut “Everybody Loves” up to the personal touch of “Sister, Sister”, there seems to be a song for everyone to like.

For listeners who are fans of this Brooklyn native, or even those who would like to listen to an alternative from what Bo Bice had dished out, then “Constantine” could just be a good option. Here’s a guy who continues to grow as an artist, so it will be interesting to see what comes next in his career as a musician, but for now one can sit back and enjoy the songs found in this album.

Finally, the results are ready to be given to the crowd.  Constantine hands the envelope to Phoebe and asks her to read the winner.

Tension mounts on both men’s faces as she opens the envelope.

august272.jpg picture by TheresaGee

And the winner is Phoebe and Constantine!  Whew!

aug27theywin.jpg picture by TheresaGee

For a few seconds, the joy of the win is shattered by Rick’s statement that his love song with Phoebe didn’t come across.

BB0827079.jpg picture by TheresaGee

But it was time to celebrate the win by singing a duet version of “Everybody Loves, Everybody Cries.”

aug27ec.jpg picture by TheresaGee

After they finish the song, Phoebe spots Rick starting to walk away – she begins to sing the song she sang with him as Constantine walks off.

aug27phoebespotsrick.jpg picture by TheresaGee

And so ends The Boldface Challenge.  Mr. Parros and Phoebe were the voters favorite.  But it looks like Phoebe and Rick have won in a different way!

Note: Thanks to “Taffy” for some of the screencaps used in my two Boldface Challenge entries!

aug24cover.jpg picture by TheresaGee

This was a very good episode.  I think the staff and production crew of The Bold and The Beautiful did a great job on this particular show.  The staging and lighting that was used made it look like a real concert was taking place.

aug245.jpg picture by TheresaGee

There was plenty of back stage drama included, too.

aug242.jpg picture by TheresaGee

Constantine was a very articulate and dynamic sounding host!

BB08240731.jpg picture by TheresaGee

Jon McLaughlin was on first singing “Sweet Disaster.”  Nice job Jon!

aug244.jpg picture by TheresaGee

Our host was up again.

aug246introtoelliot.jpg picture by TheresaGee

This time he introduced Elliot Yamin who took the stage and wowed the audience with his new hit single.

aug246.jpg picture by TheresaGee

Finally, Constantine came out to sing “Fading into You.”

Aug24performing.jpg picture by TheresaGee

It was a real crowd pleaser and one that went over big with Felicia, too!

Aug24thumbsup.jpg picture by TheresaGee

Finally, the envelope arrived with the results of the vote.

Aug24results.jpg picture by TheresaGee

And the winner is……….

In fine soap fashion, the scene left off at that point.  And we were left waiting anxiously for the results to be annouced on Monday!

Scenes from the Week of August 18th

As much as I enjoy posting on this blog, I admit I could not keep up with all that happened this week.  Real life (rl)  is presenting me with some outstanding and challenging new opportunities; I’m enjoying every minute of them.

Now I finally have a few free moments to relax and post some highlights to show what an active week it was for Constantine.  Lots of good stuff was happening.

Saturday, A. M.

First stop, Swansea Mall, Swansea, Massachusetts.  Constantine sang songs accompanied by Jim Boggia on the guitar.

These two are always remarkable to hear performing together.  I like this rendition of “Fading Into You.”  Con sounds great and I love the harmonies.

Thanks to astridk909 for this video:

Brett Mallard (http://www.dramatapix.com/)   was also there to take some outstanding photos.  He has a way of capturing sides of Constantine that are often missed.  Thanks Brett!

And it looks like he’s capturing Jim very well, too:

Still Saturday, but P.M.

Constantine and Jim arrive at Eisenhower Park, Fresh Meadows, New York to meet up with the rest of the band for the Fresh 102.7 show.

Here’s a few videos from the show.  Thanks to LonelyHeart for this first one of “Heaven Help the Lonely.”  LonelyHeart did a good job of finding the very active Mr. Maroulis during this song!

And here’s another one of the song “Cryin” – you get to see Con and the band really rockin’ out.  Love the dance moves.  Thanks to Mimiaow for this one:

Sunday

Constantine attended the opening of the Broadway show “Grease”.  Picture is from www.broadwayworld.com

At sometime during this week:

He must have been at a filming site somewhere (L.A.?) to do the clip that ends the B & B on Friday where the winner of the Boldface Challenge is announced.  P.S. it wasn’t me.

‘Idol’ hopefuls ready to rock — and hit the stage

The American Idol auditions got a bit of Idol star power when the show’s host, Ryan Seacrest, popped by to survey the scene outside the AmericanAirlines Arena Wednesday morning, joined moments later by Season 4 finalist Constantine Maroulis, who came to perform songs from his new CD.

Nice picture, thanks to the person who posted it! I’m a little confused on the name right now.

Wednesday – P.M.

Constantine went to the ESPN Deportes La Revista Magazine celebrating its September 2007 issue with cover model Guillermo Cañas – August 23, 2007 – Novecento, New York City, New York.

Here Constantine is with fellow AI4 contestant Anthony Federov.

Thursday and Friday – seen on the B & B.  More about Friday’s show later.

Everyone is getting ready for the big Boldface Records Challenge Concert.  On this episode, we got to see a little of the behind the scenes action.

And we also got to see Mr. Parros presenting a check with all the proceeds of the concert to Ms. Felicia:

She seemed very pleased with what was written on the check.

Felicia and Parros are hot right now!
